Hello There!

Web development has a broad spectrum of things where you can develop yourself into. While graduating at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht I figured out that I wanted to develop myself more on the front-end side. I love seeing code you create come to life. Front-end gives me the ability to combine my passion for design with HTML 5 & CSS 3. Creating this portfolio was mostly front-end development, but because I wanted some specific functionalities I came across JavaScript. Coding in this new language made me really interested in it, because it was a lot of problem solving which I like. Now I’m currently expending my knowledge of JavaScript & React with courses in my free time.

One of the most important aspects besides the product design is the usability and the user experience of the product. In my UI/UX specialization at Hogeschool Utrecht we learned how the users will react to certain obstacles and flows of a product. Using Adobe XD I can focus more on the behavior of the users rather than focusing on the design instead. With the help of different UX methods, I can pinpoint the problems of the users. This knowledge helps me to build a more meaningful product that fits the consumer’s needs.

The love I have for front-end doesn’t stopped by coding a website for me. Another thing that I love doing is creating the design of a website. Trying to trigger the users to stay on the website for a longer periods of time or by trying to create more conversion is an art within itself. To structure the web design I use my experience from my UI/UX design specialization and create sketches. After the sketches I use tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create a more professional looking website.

Graphic design was the first digital creation tool that took my interest. It started off by creating primarily online visuals with Adobe Photoshop and the help from YouTube. I began expending my knowledge about graphic design and even started off creating offline visual designs for clients. With the help of Adobe InDesign I could create offline visuals for fairs and magazines. I have been doing graphic design now over 8 years on and off.

There is no other feeling in the world like capturing that perfect moment while being outside in nature or surrounded by friends. Photography is a creative outlet to express my creative view by telling a story with just a few photos, while also capturing a memory that will last on forever. A tool to help with my creative outlet is Adobe Lightroom. Lightroom helps me maintain a consistent style throughout all of my pictures.

A good story can remind you back to the first time you heard or seen it. That is why a big side interest of mine is creating videos. It gives me the ability to create a story and show others how I see it. Most of the videos were created in Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere & Adobe Effects. Besides visuals do you need the right sound to let your story come to life. Therefor I used sound recordings created or edited in Adobe Audition.
